Opioid Roundtable with DA Clarke

A diverse group of Bronx community leaders gathered with DA Clarke to discuss issues surrounding the opioid crisis and public health.

Our CEO and Founder Joyce Rivera was part of an Opioid Roundtable event with Bronx DA Darcel Clarke held at Metropolitan College. The panel also included SACHR board member Jonathan Giftos, MD. Those on the panel had a fruitful discussion about nature of the opioid crisis within the Bronx. Following the meeting, Rivera gave a presentation detailing the history of SACHR’s work in reducing the harms associated with drug use, outlined the specific challenges we are facing today in terms of drug policy, and proposed solutions for how we can move forward and address these issues.
